Navy stripes

Engineering the Stripe: A Technical Exploration of Textile Design
This collection deconstructs the classic navy stripe into a system governed by two precise design rules: high visual contrast and a fixed 1:2 ratio between stripe widths.
Through a deep dive into textile construction, the project examines how variations in weave structures, yarn thickness, and thread density influence not only the visual outcome but also the tactile experience of the fabric.
Attention to the dynamic between positive and negative space, all while adhering strictly to the initial parameters, resulted in a series of textiles that combine aesthetic clarity with structural complexity.

Materials: Cotton yarns in warp and weft
Technique: Woven on an industrial loom
